The final Cropwell Gypsum Mine (2-3-08)

This photograph was taken in June 1992. The Country Park beside the Kinoulton Road is now in this spot.

That big hole might have been home for a great deal of waste material. In fact, the plan was to fill it with gypsum waste. Only a well supported campaign by people from Cropwell Bishop stopped it from happening. Without their efforts we would not have the Country Park we have now.
