Teddy Bear Parachute Jump (9-7-12)

Teddy Bear Jump At noon on Sunday, Langar Airfield had to stand back and let St Giles Church Tower take centre stage for parachutists. Furry figures were hauled up to the top and grabbed by two brave volunteers who skillfully launched the little teddy bears and their home made parachutes into the air.

What happened next depended on many factors and whilst some bears floated down gracefully, others drifted into the branches of trees (and stayed there) or hit the ground with a thud. However, with a doctor and lawyer on hand, all teddy bear injuries and insurance claims were dealt with faster than the average teddy bear—or even meerkat—might have anticipated.

A really enjoyable end to the weekend activities and a chance for the very youngest members of our community to get involved,
