Remember, remember .... Fireworks Spectacular (2-11-12)
Once again, Cropwell Bishop Parish Council gave us a night to remember with a wonderful display of fireworks in perfect viewing conditions on the Memorial Hall Field.
The wind might have been a little cool but a never ending supply of hot dogs, soup and peas put that to the back of our minds.
Do you have a vision for Cropwell Bishop? (2-11-12)
If so, why not join the Cropwell Bishop Parish Council and work to make it come true?
Because Peter Walters has moved from the village, there is a vacancy on the Council and nominations must be in by noon on Friday 9th November. For more details, go to:

This is your chance to work for a better future rather than just talking about one.

"Ken Loach expertly combines comedy with politics – and a drop of the hard stuff – in a warm, deftly-plotted heist movie."

Quiz Night a great success again (13-10-12)
Over 60 people filled the Old School for this evening's Quiz. The enlarged hall made it so easy to move between tables and also to collect drinks and food from the kitchen with its large bars: how did we manage in the Old School before the extensions? With difficulty I think.
A varied and enjoyable quiz allowed everyone to answer at least some questions correctly—or at least have a good guess.
There were several winners of prizes but, as usual, there can be only one winner and, as usual, the prize went to the "Young Ones" team headed by Dr MacDonald. All good fun and fine food.

Thieves targetting Catalytic Converters on our cars (9-10-12)
Below is information we have received from Nottinghamshire Police:
Over the last two days, five catalytic converters have been stolen from vehicles in the Rushcliffe-South area.
Catalytic converters are connected to the exhaust underneath vehicles. This means vehicles with a raised suspension, such as four-wheel drives, are more vulnerable.
It looks like the thieves are using the A46 to access the villages and then using it again to flee the scene—possibly out of the county.
Report suspicious activity, such as people working under vehicles in an ad-hoc manner, especially at night time, to police.
