What a Great Show by the Villagers (6-9-14)

At today's Village Show, 58 people entered things they had grown, cooked, knitted, painted, photographed, embroidered and fermented: there were 244 items on display.

They represented several thousands of hours of hard work in their preparation. So well done to all the people—including 16 children—who took part and made the 2014 Cropwell Bishop Show a great success.

As you look through the photos below, I am sure you will recognise the effort and fun that has gone into the displays. You might also detect the amount of effort that was put in by the teams of volunteer judges (there were six there this morning), organisers and helpers who made the whole thing happen.

There were many, many winners today but the overall ones were:

Best in Show: Tim Nixon

who was awarded the Sharpes Trophy

Best Family: The Herringtons

who were awarded the Gary Jowett Trophy

Best Child Entrant: Josephine Herrington

who was awarded a £15 iTunes voucher care of Gary Jowett

I will publish a list of all winners next weekend. Photos were taken by Hilary Jarrow, Mel Stanley and Tony Jarrow.
