Help to Record Our History (12-8-15)

Is there anyone willing to help the Heritage Group record an oral history of our Village?

Each recording would take approx 2 hours on the day and would make use of the Group's own camcorder. Necessary instructions and help would be provided.

Thank you.

This Website: Have Your Say (2-8-15)

Hoe Hill I plan to change the design of this website.

Much has changed since the last re-design in 2009:

- more people are using tablets and mobile phones to view websites,

- internet download speeds have increased,

- internet browsers have improved, and

- the technology available for web design has improved.

This site has over 300 visits every day and, at times, over 500. I am able to view daily statistics that tell me precisely what devices and browsers are being used and which pages are the most popular but they don't tell me why YOU visit the site and WHAT you want from it.

I already have some ideas of improvements that can be made but what I really want is feedback from you, the user, of what you think would make the site better. It might be to do with:

- its appearance on your computer, tablet or phone,

- the ease (or difficulty) of moving from page to page,

- the content (are you missing something? is something useless for you? would you prefer more or less pictures? etc),

- features that you particularly like and would like to see more of,

- what annoys you?

- the list of 'Earlier News Stories': do any of you look back 5 years?

etc

I would appreciate any comments: it will make my job easier. It is likely to take months to complete, but I don't want to re-design the site only to find that it becomes less enjoyable for you.

So, please let me know your thoughts. Email me (address at bottom of page if you don't already have it).

Thanks, Tony Jarrow
