Launch of Cropwell Bishop Plane (10-1-09)
On Thursday 22nd January 2009 the Cropwell Bishop Village Plan will be launched. You will be able to collect your very own copy of the full colour booklet. We want to make this an event to remember.
The doors of the Old School on Fern Road will open at 6.30pm. You will be greeted by members of the Cropwell Plan Steering Group who will offer you a drink of wine or fruit juice and some Cropwell Bishop cheese (kindly donated by The Creamery).
You will be amazed by the inside of the building: freshly painted, carpeted and with new light fittings throughout. You will hear the village Choir sing a couple of songs and then at 7.00pm you will hear some words from the Mayor of Rushcliffe, Alan Wilson (Parish Council) and Tony Jarrow (Cropwell Village Plan). The specially made celebration cake will then be cut by the Mayor to celebrate the launch of our Village Plan.
In fact this event is a double celebration. As I am sure you are already aware, the Parish Council purchased the Old School building last summer. Over the last two months contractors have been refurbishing the whole building and it is now ready to be used by almost any group that wants to use it (in fact bookings have already been taken). This event will be the first time that the Old School Community building has opened its doors to the public. And keep in mind, this refurbishment is just the first step in the Parish Council's plan to renovate and extend the building.
Once the cake has been cut you will be able to collect your own copy of the Village Plan booklet. You will also be given a slice of the celebration cake to take home with you.
If you can't make the opening time, don't worry, we will keep the doors open until 8.30pm and your booklet - and hopefully cake - will be waiting for you.
If you can't get to this event at all, don't panic: you will still get a copy of the Plan. We will note who has not collected their copy and during the following week a member of the Steering Group will be knocking at their door to present a copy.
The Steering Group and Parish Council look forward to seeing you: this is an event for everyone who lives in Cropwell Bishop.
