Open Gardens in Cropwell Bishop (13-7-15)
Hanging Baskets (28-5-15)
(Club Meeting on May 18th)
We welcomed John Draper back to the Gardening Club on Monday with a very timely seasonal demonstration.
John made the construction of a hanging basket just sooo quick and easy! Along with helpful hints on the materials to use and which plants and where, a beautiful basket was made in minutes.
And then it was our turn. With enthusiasm and excellent results another six magnificent baskets were produced to be raffled and taken home with pride. Cropwell Bishop watch out, I think there will be more contenders for the hanging basket competition this summer.
Our thanks to Bland Bros. Nuserymen in Lambley for supplying the plants and materials. John donated his fee for the evening to Cancer Research.

Gardening Club AGM (2-5-15)
Held on Monday 20th April 2015.
The Gardening Club’s 7th AGM was well attended (for an AGM), with over 30 members present to hear the review of the past year and look forward to the next.
2014/15 was once again busy, varied and productive with 7 guest speakers, 2 social events and 5 garden visits. Plus 12 newsletters, 2 changes of village floral displays and working with the Allotment Association to present the Village Show…not bad for a small village.
Membership subscription this year remains at £8 but Treasurer Gerry Humphries outlined the need for creative fund raising ideas if we are to continue to have quality speakers without an increase in subscriptions next year.
Another full programme of speakers and garden visits has been booked for 2015/16, which will be highlighted on your membership cards available at the next meeting on May 18th
The evening was concluded with a well-researched Photo Quiz by Malcolm Plant showing some of his stunning photographs and beautiful paintings and puzzle prizes for all.
