The Pinfold: out with the old (21-9-08)

On Wednesday 17th September, a team from the Gardening Club set to and cleared the weeds and dull plants from the Pinfold. This is just the first step in revitalising this historic part of the village.

Before Hard at work Pleasure? Job done Teamwork

On Sunday 21st September, members of the Gardening Club continued their work on the Pinfold. They planted hundreds of bluebell and daffodil bulbs under the grass. Next Spring there will be masses of blue and yellow flowers for everyone to enjoy. They also went to each of the village signs at the entrances to the village and planted daffodil bulbs there too - hundreds!
Can't wait for next Spring!

On Thursday 25th September, members of the Cropwell Bishop Gardening Club completed their plan to replant the Pinfold on Stockwell Lane. In just nine days the Pinfold has been given a new lease of life although we won't be able to fully enjoy the benefits until next Spring. Next time you walk along Church Street, take a look at the raised beds with their fresh soil and new shrubs: email your thoughts to us (address at bottom of this page).
Many thanks to the 19 people who gave their time to make this project a success. Also to the Parish Council and our two Rushcliffe Councillors who, between them, paid for the bulbs, plants and soil.
