Baby and Toddler Group (12-6-15)

The Cropwell Bishop Baby and Toddler Group has been running for over 7 years now. We meet every Wednesday at the Old School in Cropwell Bishop.

The group offers an opportunity for babies up to 4 year olds to play in a fun and safe environment, whilst their grown ups can meet other parent/carers and have a chat over a cup of tea or coffee.

Over the last few years we have said goodbye to the older children as they have gone off to school and have welcomed new faces in their place. Unfortunately, we find ourselves in a position where the current group leaders have children that are ready to start school and will no longer be attending the group. So we are looking for new members to keep the group going.

We rely on parents/carers to run the group, which simply involves setting out and tidying away the toys and providing some milk and healthy snacks for the children.

If you are looking for a fun and relaxed toddler group and have a small amount of time to offer, we would love to hear from you!

For more information please contact Becca on 07710 991575 or:
becbob_5@hotmail.co.uk
Or come along and see us at The Old School, Fern Road, Cropwell Bishop every Wednesday 10-11.30am.

Everyone protests but now Notts CC to decide (5-6-15)

You may well remember the news reports and public meetings last year about Chris Allsop's proposal to bring in lots of big lorries into our village to fill a giant hole that he unlawfully dug. Well, the decision on whether to allow him, or not, is now just one meeting away.

Sometime in the next few months (it could be July but more likely September), Notts County Council will make the decision at a planning meeting.

This is how our own Parish Council reported this news at this weeks Monthly Parish Meeting:

ALLSOP PLANNING APPLICATION – CLARIFICATION ON PLANNING APPLICATION
NO FINAL DECISION YET MADE

Nottinghamshire County Council are the principal planning officers for this application. Rushcliffe Borough Council are consultees as are the Parish Council. The final decision on this planning application will be made by Nottinghamshire County Council at a planning meeting yet to be confirmed.
At this meeting your Parish Council and County Councillor Richard Butler will be in attendance together with any parishioners who wish to attend but parishioners will not be given a voice. Cllr. R. Butler, Cllr. J. Jones and resident W. Gilbert will be speaking on our behalf.

Despite all the parish council, residents and Cllr. G. Moore’s efforts, Rushcliffe Borough Council have seen fit not to object to this application, however as can be seen from Rushcliffe’s letter they have raised significant concerns re this application.

Because this matter concerns the extraction and dumping of minerals, Rushcliffe Borough Council does not have the power to prevent Chris Allsop's plan going ahead, only Notts County Council can do that.
However, Rushcliffe Councillors have sent a letter to Notts County Council expressing their significant concerns. See below:

Letter

I will inform you of the date of the Planning Meeting as soon as it is announced. It may well be worth having a large number of residents in the gallery.

Notts County Council recently closed the Langar Tip; are you interested in seeing how the people at County Hall make decisions on our behalf?
