Brownie Guides welcomed by Cropwell (10-11-08)

cooking treasure hunt

The 6th Beeston Brownie Guides recently spent the weekend in the 'Cropwells'. It was their Pack Holiday and the girls and their leaders "had a brilliant time".
Guider, Alison Mills, said:
"we would really like to thank all of the people in Cropwell Butler and Cropwell Bishop who helped us in any way. We would especially like to thank everyone from Cropwell Bishop Methodist Church who were so welcoming when we all "invaded" on the Sunday morning, the girls really enjoyed the service and making the chocolate apples".
In this electronic age, there is nothing to beat a real adventure with friends. They cost little mony but were worth a fortune. Over 20 years ago my own daughter spent her Brownie Pack Holiday in Linby and many fellow Brownies are still best friends.
Beeston is a great place to live - my wife grew up there - and we go shopping there as often as Nottingham: the jacket potatos in The Square are wonderful! I know that Brownie Packs regularly stay at the Cropwell Bishop Memorial Hall and I hope that the Beeston Brownies (what a lovely name!) will visit us again soon.
The photos below show Brownies cooking and then on a treasure hunt. It must have been a very busy weekend, not least for the Guiders and helpers. Without their enthusiasm and hard work these events would never happen.
