Owthorpe Ponds explored (15-3-09)
More often than not, our days of planned walks correspond with beautiful weather and this day proved to be no exception. A record number of twenty five people set off from the village at 10am and headed across fields and along hedgerows until they discovered the ponds at Owthorpe. Along the way they enjoyed parts of our Parish they had never seen before.
Fourteen stiles had to be climbed over and several pools of mud had to be trudged through, but no one complained even though the dogs with short legs had good reason to!
All agreed that it was a wonderful start to the day. Enjoy the photos of our two hours away from the kitchen sink and daily routine.
