On the left, Hoe Hill (21-11-10)

Walking Club 21-11-10 Walking Club 21-11-10 After the recent wet weather, the Walking Club kept to established paths today and throughout it was possible to say, "Hoe Hill is on our left."

Just after 10am we turned off the Cropwell Butler Road and headed along the footpaths that lead directly to the Fosse Way: I wonder, will we still call it the Fosse Way once the new road has opened?

Where the canal passes under the Fosse Way we were able to peer at the fields beyond but they remain 'out of bounds' while the civil engineers complete there task.

We then continued along the canal path back into the Village.

A fairly short walk on a cool day but, as usual, the sun shone. The next walk will be on Boxing Day when it will end at the Old School for pork cobs, hot dogs, cake and drinks: can't wait. Members will be emailed with details in the next few weeks.

'Ow is Owthorpe? (10-10-10)

Walking Club 10-10-10 Judging by what we saw today, very well!

The Walking Club headed south to one of our historic neighbours (aren't they all?) on a day when the sunshine returned. Maybe it was because it was the 10/10/10/10.. , then again, probably not.

There were 17 of us out on the paths and we needed the full two hours to ensure we got back home by our usual midday. Does that mean we are fit to have completed the distance, or unfit beause it took us so long? We don't know and today we didn't care—we enjoyed ourselves.

We hope you enjoy the pictures.
