Cropwell Walkers step out for the first time (2-7-08)

along the fields starting at the Wheatsheaf

Sunday (29th June) was really beautiful at 9.30am. It was perfect weather to explore some local paths across fields and alongside the Canal. Lucky then that 16 people who wanted to enjoy the Cropwell Bishop countryside on foot were gathering in the car park of the Wheatsheaf. They had all responded to the advert in Cropwell Bishop News and added their name to the growing list of people who have joined the Cropwell Bishop Walking Group. Several couldn't make it and it is likely that future walks will take place at a variety of times in the week to enable everyone to get out and enjoy the paths that Villagers used for centuries before cars took over.

A look through the photos will tell you that they enjoyed themselves. If you like the idea of enjoying a local walk with others or discovering where those footpath signs lead to, why not add your name to the list and keep yourself informed of planned activites. Usual address, amjarrow@mac.com
